Monday evening, 25 January.
Nothing to report.
Spent Saturday in Harpenden looking for a bargain place to rent.
We don't like to moan... but it's incredible what people think they can get away with: both property owners and estate agents!
Houses that look like they were evicted in a panic, broken beds in the garden, a bedroom with a completely black wall ("a leak, it's ok, it's just in this room", said the agent), another bedroom with thick black marks in the opposite corner (the agent said nothing...). This place was advertised as "recently refurbished". Refurbished by Mr and Mrs Rising-Damp, maybe.
Back to the drawing board this weekend (other activities permitting), but at least we're getting to see all corners of Harpenden.

Christmas 2009 Part 1

Our festivities at the end of 2009 started with a drive to Chipping Campden on Christmas Eve...

Like the rest of the country, the Cotswolds was still wearing a dusting of snow - and plenty of ice - which made for a lovely few days in front of the fire and on long country walks.

Devon '09 in photos

Here, at long last, are our photos from our summer holiday in Dartmoor.
Between rain showers (hidden in the yurt) we had some beautiful days at the beach, on the moors and in the hills.
Although it has taken a long while to get the photos online - it was so long ago that Jo doesn't look even slightly pregnant, but she was - it's great to look back during these cold winter months.

p.s Jo says you might want to set the slideshow speed to "fast"

p.p.s. In Tim's defence, there are a lot of rocks in Dartmoor....

Devon '09 on screen...

Tim has only just realised that he hadn't edited and uploaded the holiday snaps from Devon - July last year! While we pick out the best, and delete the least flattering (think wellies and waterproofs), here's the one video he found on the camera.

(You'll see from the photos that it wasn't all rain!)

Green smoothie

In a bid to share some well-meaning 2010 resolutions and add something useful to the blog, you'll find me adding the occasional recipe as I stumble across them on the world wide wecipe book.

*This doesn't mean I've tried them yet!

Christmas Dinner #1

Christmas and the New Year have both come and gone. We had a lovely time.
Photos to follow, but (to start with) here's a set from our Christmas Dinner with Toby, Rach, Emily and Tim in Mid-December. Click on the photo above to go through to the album.
